Uncle Dean's Buttery Brussel Sprouts
These soft, peppery, buttery brussels sprouts are the favorite of my Uncle Dean. And as delicious as they are, they are extremely simple to make. The trick is just to add tons of pepper and butter to them after they have been cooked and strained. He usually uses the frozen ones, because they are quicker to cook, but you can use fresh as well.
Ingredients:
1 bag of frozen Brussel Sprouts
1/4 cup salted butter
1-2 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
- Boil or steam the brussel sprouts until they are nice and tender.
- Drain out the water (you can reserve this to make soup).
- Return the brussel sprouts to the pot, (or put them in a serving bowl, if you have something to cover it with), set the butter on top of the brussel sprouts, grate a generous amount of fresh black pepper over them, and cover the pot or bowl and set aside for 3-4 minutes until the butter has melted into them.
- Toss & serve.
