Cappadocia

Cappadocia is an otherworldly area of Turkey, not far from Ankara, known for its exquisite rock formations, the "fairy chimneys," and the multitudes of ancient dwellings carved into its valley walls and rock formations, which were later used by the early Christians as homes and churches. We visited Cappadocia for two days this Christmas, and I would easily return again. The sights there are fascinating, and there is so much history to take in.
