About

Cooking - Travelling - Outdoorsing - Reminiscing

For every writer, the blogging experience is surely different. For me - on a personal level - when I look back at my posts, I see the places I used to live, the plates I used to have, and I get to see photos of times that I made some of my favourite recipes. I come to my blog, sometimes to reminisce about places I went, but also for my Grandma's recipes, and recipes of mine that I don't have with me, or just because I don't feel like getting the recipe out. I guess it's always something of a scrapbooking and memory-keeping experience for me, as well as an online recipe box, a place of convenience for me.

On the public level, I simply love to share the places and dishes that I love with friends and future friends.

I hope the recipes I share are useful to want to try something that is perhaps new to them, but is undeniably food from a Canadian home, even if the post was written from far away.

You will also find a collection of travel posts from some of my recent adventures. Although I don't always post about my travels, when I do, it's because the place was wonderful.

I also have a rather significant number of posts full of pictures and commentary specifically on Nova Scotia hiking trails, and places to do other outdoorsy things there from when I was studying there, and just because I love that province. So for those who like outdoorsing and are in Nova Scotia, I hope those posts may be helpful for you.

Finally, I am now living in Indonesia, and I do hope that while I am here I will be able to create a collection of Indonesian posts, firstly with Indonesian recipes made simple and translated into English, for people who would like to get better acquainted with Indonesian cooking, and hopefully highlight some of the beautiful, diverse experiences I've been privy to here on this side of the globe.

So, please take a look. If you know me, there may be some memories to be sparked here, and if not, I just hope you enjoy the recipes and places that I love, shared from Canada, Europe, and now here in THE TROPICS.
